Just Mortgages expands self-employed recruitment team with new senior appointment
09 December 2025
The self-employed arm of Just Mortgages, one of the UK’s largest mortgage brokerages, has boosted its recruitment team with the addition of Sascha Mason as senior recruitment consultant.
Bringing experience from financial services recruitment and a self-employed background, Sascha will be tasked with growing the self-employed division at Just Mortgages, highlighting its strong proposition and support structure to ambitious advisers. Alongside those ready to launch their own advice businesses, Sascha’s remit will cover trainee and new brokers, right up to those already self-employed who are looking to break away from more corporate structures and organisations.
In particular, Sascha will focus on recruitment efforts for Just Mortgages’ business principals, helping them to find new adviser talent at no cost to their businesses. This will include multi-disciplined advisers, as well as protection-only advisers in line with growing demand. Recruitment for business principals has been a key driver of growth at Just Mortgages and reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting their growth and progression.
Sascha joins Just Mortgages from The Recruitment Experts and reunites with Kara Jones, having both worked as self-employed financial services head-hunters and recruitment specialists for Rayner Personnel. Before this, Sascha was a mortgage adviser herself, working for London & Country Mortgages and gaining her CeMAP qualification. She started her career in financial services with Barclays, working in customer care roles across a number of branches.
The appointment comes as Just Mortgages approaches 500 self-employed advisers across the country. In total, Just Mortgages has more than 650 advisers, including employed advisers in estate agency branches nationwide and a specialist new build division.
Sascha Mason said:
“As soon as Kara reached out about this opportunity, I knew it was the right fit for me. Self-employed recruitment is a really rewarding role, working with employed advisers to give them the confidence to open the door to launching their own business. It’s clear how important that is here at Just Mortgages, making that move less scary for advisers by showing them what is in place and how they will be supported. It’s really impressive what Just Mortgages has to offer and it’s great to be able to talk to lots of different people about potential roles, including trainee or new brokers who don’t always get many opportunities.
“My experience so far has been really positive, working with such a nice team who couldn’t be more helpful. It’s clear that people are proud to work here and I’m already feeling that too. It’s great to already be having really positive conversations with some really strong candidates and to be working closely with both area directors and business principals who are grateful for the support and eager to grow their teams.”
Ben Allkins, head of mortgages and protection at Just Mortgages, adds:
“This year has been a bumper year for our self-employed division, with high levels of interest and applicants. A key driver behind this growth has been our emphasis on supporting the recruitment efforts of our business principals – giving them access to talented advisers to really scale their businesses. Adding Sascha to team means we can build on this tremendous work and continue to best serve our principals and the wider division.
“Given her experience in financial services recruitment, self-employment and as a mortgage adviser herself, Sascha is a fantastic addition to our team. Increasing the talent in our recruitment team is a key part of our strategy as we head into 2026 and continue in our mission to grow the division and demonstrate a better and more complete way for ambitious advisers to go self-employed.”
Alongside day-to-day support with sales, marketing and compliance, self-employed advisers also access ongoing training and mentoring. Those looking to increase their skillset can take advantage of additional licence courses held by Just Mortgages, or enrol on the business principals programme. This provides the necessary leadership and management training to enable advisers to recruit, manage and support their own team.
